Our Mission
Our goal is to positively impact people who have been impacted by brain changes by providing increased life participation and the opportunity to be a part of a community of others with similar challenges and life experiences.
Healing Harmonies Music is working to provide resources to help people start their own community singing group for people with acquired brain changes.
Why is music important for brain changes?
Increased Life Participation
Brain injury or brain changes can be incredibly isolating. Being a part of a community of others with similar life experiences and challenges is important to helping prevent isolation and depression.
Music & The Brain
Music can help people who have language difficulties, such as aphasia, by activating the right hemisphere of the brain. Well known music can be helpful in promoting brain plasticity and cognition.
Respiration & Voice Strengthening
Singing can help strengthen your voice and respiration. People with neurodegenerative disorders often experience respiration and voice changes, which can be helped through singing, voice and breathing exercises.
